The health benefits of Christmas

Health touches all aspects of an individual, and this includes the spiritual aspect. Spiritual health is an important and integral aspect of holistic healing.

History is filled with accounts of many spiritual healers. In African traditions and other cultures of the world, spirit beings are invoked and appeased to heal diverse diseases.

Christmas is a day set aside to celebrate the birth of the most powerful healer the world has ever known – Jesus Christ.

The Birth of Jesus Christ

Well, some argue that Christ wasn’t actually born on this day but Christ himself said that whatever we agree here on earth is agreed in heaven. The World Council of Churches agreed to choose this day to celebrate his birth.

Jesus Christ was a spirit being and also a man. His coming changed a lot of things and opened a lot of eyes. This post focuses on the importance of Jesus’s coming health-wise.

The Health Benefits of Christmas

  1. He came that we might have life

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

(John 10:10)

These are the words of Jesus himself. This clearly shows that his main aim for coming was to improve the quality of our lives. He came to make things easy. He came to restore us to our former state in the garden.

You have access to this abundant life when you appreciate Christmas and accept him and the work he has done for you. When you read the bible, you can see many accounts of how he did this.

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

(Matthew 4:23-24)

And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

(Matthew 9:35)

But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

(Matthew 12:15)

Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

(Matthew 12:22)

And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

(Matthew 14:14)

And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them:

(Matthew 15:30)

And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there

(Matthew 19:2)

And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them

(Matthew 21:14)

These are just a few verses from one gospel alone showing that he really came to give us life. You can benefit from this life simply by accepting him as your Lord.

  1. He came to let us know healing is our right

Knowing your rights is highly important. No one can cheat you of what is rightfully yours. You claim what is yours with authority when you know your right.

In the gospel, Jesus said healing is the children’s bread. A non-Jew came to him asking him to heal her daughter and he said:

But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread and to cast it unto the dogs.

(Mark 7:27)

To be a legal child that can access healing at any time, just accept him and believe in him.

  1. He came to give us the authority to heal

This is the part I love most. He didn’t just come to show some powers and go away. He empowered his disciples to heal. And he is still empowering many to do so through his spirit today.

And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

(Matthew 10:1)

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

(Matthew 10:8)

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover

(Mark 16:15-18)

These were Jesus’s final words before his ascension. If you desire this authority, all you have to do is believe in him and accept him as your Lord.

  1. He came to empower our mortal bodies

By our continual interaction with Jesus in prayers, our physical bodies would be strengthened. You would experience grace and extra-ordinary strength.

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

(Romans 8:11)

Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast made me as the clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again?

Hast thou not poured me out as milk, and curdled me like cheese?

Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews.

Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.

(Job 10:9-12)

The visitation Job was talking about here was simply fellowship.

His flesh shall be fresher than a child’s: he shall return to the days of his youth:

(Job 33:25)

The book of Job exposes another benefit of constant fellowship with God. I call this reverse aging. You can benefit from this today by believing in Christ and having constant fellowship with him.

  1. He came to make our eternity sure

There is life after planet earth. When our time is exhausted here and we drop this body of flesh, there is a place called eternity where we go forever.

Many have tried to deny this fact but even so-called scientists now are attesting to this fact. Surgeons are changing their mind when their patients come back with a story.

We can’t be in denial of this forever. And whether you chose to believe or not doesn’t change the fact that is true. And one thing I love about Jesus is that he addressed this issue very well before his ascension more than any “spiritual leader/founder”.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

(John 3:16)

The “perish” here is simply eternal separation from God, the Source of life. Everlasting life is when you are with God forever.

In the very words of Jesus, this is what he said:

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

(John 14:2-3)

These are my top five reasons why I celebrate this day. These are the reasons I appreciate the coming of the Son of God. I don’t celebrate this day blindly, I do it purposely, knowing and understanding fully well what he has done and is still doing.

All of us at Nature Cure Foundation wish you a merry Christmas and a healthy new year.
