Citrus Fruits, Powerful natural doctors

Nature is the best healer I know and what I call “Natural Doctors” are elements of nature that have powerful therapeutic effects. Millions of people in the world also attest to this fact as the use of herbal and natural medicine is ever increasing.

Even the World Health Organization estimated that 80% of the world population rely on herbs and other forms of alternative medicine as their primary source of healthcare.

If nature wasn’t working, then we would be singing a different song today. But it works and what I love about science is that nothing stands before observation.

So, in this post, we will be focusing on the best natural doctors and how to engage them in preventing and treating diseases.

The Best Natural Doctors

1. Pure air (Oxygen)

Practice deep breathing to increase your oxygen content
Practice deep breathing to increase your oxygen content

Every cell of your body needs a constant supply of fresh air or else they will get weak and die. The human cells die within minutes of oxygen starvation.

No human can survive without air. It is the most vital element for both man and animals. You can survive for days without water, weeks without food, but you will perish if you stay without air for few minutes.

Millions of people are suffering from different ailments that are caused by insufficient supply of oxygen to the body. Even cancer has been defined as oxygen-deficiency by Otto Warburg, a Noble Prize winner in the 1900s.

Oxygen-deficiency happens because a lot of people are not breathing correctly. Or they are breathing in stale and polluted air. Overtime, this will weaken the body, emotions, and their life.

If you want to have good blood, you must take in sufficient oxygen. Humans need full and deep inspiration of pure air so their blood can be purified. Oxygen gives your blood a bright red color and a life-giving current.

Sufficient oxygen also soothes your nerves, boosts digestion, stimulates appetite, and induces a sweat and refreshing sleep. Blood moves sluggishly when oxygen is insufficient in the body.

Wastes and poisonous matter that are supposed to be eliminated by the lungs accumulate in the body and makes the blood impure. Major organs of the body like the brain, liver, and stomach are also affected.

The heart becomes depressed, the skin pale, digestion slows down, and the brain becomes clouded. At this time, confusion sets in and making decisions becomes difficult.

Gloom sets on the spirit and your whole system becomes depressed and inactive. At this stage, you become susceptible to diseases. Make sure your home and bedroom is well aerated.

Dr. H.E Kirschner said: “I am also in full agreement with Dr. Philip Welsh, who declares: Any form of treatment—any program of health which does not give full and due consideration to the first essential of life—pure air—will absolutely fail to get the best results—yes, this one question of supplying the body with pure air is important enough to determine the difference between health and sickness—between life and death!” (From the book Nature’s seven doctors by Dr. H.E Kirschner).

The health of your entire body depends on the actions of your respiratory organs. Breathe well if you want to have good blood. A good way to increase your oxygen content is to practice deep breathing.

2. Sunlight

Sunlight, a powerful natural doctor
Sunlight, a powerful natural doctor

Many don’t know the powerful therapeutic effect the sun has and without it, no life on earth can be sustained, including that of plants and animals.

Once the ultraviolet rays of the sun touches your skin, a cascade of reactions take place beneath your skin. One of this is the synthesis of vitamin D from substances beneath the skin called ergosterols.

This is then carried to all parts of your body, especially to the teeth, bones, and nails. From ancient civilizations, sunlight has been used to preserve food because they knew it destroys bacteria that cause food spoilage.

Today, heliotherapists use sunlight to treat bacterial infections, reduce high blood pressure, reduce cholesterol levels, reduce high blood sugars (has no effect on normal sugar), and increase the speed and functions of white blood cells.

When you expose your body to sunlight, your respiratory rate will be lower and your breathing will be easier, slower, and deeper. Sunlight increases the capacity of oxygen the blood can carry.

Just a single exposure of your skin to sunlight can boost the oxygen content of your blood for several days. You can help someone suffering from bronchial asthma who can’t breathe by making them sunbath. Their will breathe freely after this.

The benefits of sunlight are multiplied if you combine them with exercise. Sunlight is believed to reduce blood pressure by 8% but when combined with exercise, it lowers it by 15%.

Sunlight also helps people overcome the side effects of stress and gives better sleep at night. It also changes cholesterol in your body to Vitamin D thus reducing your risks for chronic diseases.

Hardening of the arteries can be stopped by exposing yourself to sunlight. If you are suffering from any chronic disease, frequent short exposure to sunlight will benefit you more than infrequent and longer exposure.

Due to the dangerous side effects of chlorine, sunlight is considered an alternative in killing dangerous microbes in water. Water can be irradiated with ultraviolet light and this can kill the most dangerous water-borne diseases which are cholera, typhoid, bacillary dysentery, and hepatitis.

It has also been demonstrated that sunlight can kill these bacteria to some depth, especially if the flow of water is slow enough to make the ultraviolet radiation reach the bacteria.

Exposure to sunlight increases the resistance of your skin to infections by killing bacteria directly on your skin.

The shorter ultraviolet wavelengths are the most potent because they penetrate the skin and kill germs there. The longer wavelengths do so but to a lesser degree.

Another way sunlight kills bacteria is to change the natural oils on the skin into bactericidal agents. Even the vapors rising from these irradiated oils can kill bacteria.

This is why sunlight is used in treating skin infections and conditions like acne and psoriasis. It also strengthens the immune system by increasing the speed and amount of the white blood cells.

Sunlight increases the number of lymphocytes (the most powerful germ killer in the body) more than the other white blood cells. The production of antibody is also increased when you expose yourself to sunlight.

Wastes and uric acid are eliminated more when you expose yourself to sunlight. Even heavy metals are expelled from your body when you receive sunlight. Exposing wounds to sunlight and air heals it fast.

Russians give sunlight therapy to their miners daily to help them expel coal, rock dust, and quarts from their lungs. Sunlight also increases the amount of trace minerals in the blood.

You can lose weight by getting more sunlight. It increases basal body metabolism, burn up more calories, and even increase thyroid production.

Pregnant women who expose themselves to sunlight experience easier child birth. Sunlight purifies the air you breathe and reduces the risks of air-borne diseases.

Make sure you know your limits when receiving sunlight.

Dark-skinned people need more sunlight than other races and some researchers believe that this is why they suffer from certain diseases than some races.

This is why the black race is the most susceptible to jaundice, diabetes, tuberculosis, and high blood pressure, and rickets. This is why they need more sunlight so that their bodies can make vitamin D. Africans need to expose their bodies to sunlight than other races.

The best ways to get sunlight are sunbathing and sun gazing. Click here to read more.

3. Water

Hydrotherapy: A Powerful Therapy
Hydrotherapy: A Powerful Therapy

This is one of the most valuable healers we have as your body is about 80% water. All your cells are constantly bathing in water. It boosts your kidney health and your overall health. We lose water every day through breathing, sweating, urinating, and many more.

If the loss of water is more than your water intake, the disease can surface. It makes the blood thick and flows with great difficulty, it reduces physical endurance.

Dehydration causes a lot of problems. It puts more pressure on your heart to pump sludge blood. You need more than 8 glasses of water daily and more during hot weather or when you exercise.

Don’t drink your water with meals but in between meals. Wait for 30 minutes before meals to drink water. Drink water two hours after meals. Upon arising, the best thing to do is to drink water.

Don’t drink too much water as it thins your blood and makes you light-headed. However, there is less danger in drinking a little of excess water than in drinking less.

Frequent bathing is also very important. It should be done at least once daily. But for more benefits, two or three times a day is perfect.

It boosts the elimination of toxins from the sweat pores and invigorates your body.

There is a field of Natural Medicine called Hydrotherapy. Water is the main element of cure in this field.

“When we come to the individual need for water, it is readily realized that water is certainly our most precious mineral. It is the most essential of all minerals for our bodies. An animal can lose all its fat, about half its protein,—but if it loses as much as one-tenth of its water, it will die.”—Jonathan Forman, M.D. (Water and Man).

4. Healthy diet

Diet, a powerful natural doctor

In healing and maintaining health, nothing stands before diet. We need to eat the right amount of the right food at regular hours to keep diseases at bay.

You maintain your health, repair and build new cells by what you eat. Anything you put into your body affects your system. A bad diet affects your system negatively while a good diet promotes health and longevity.

The human body does best on whole grains, nuts and seeds, and fruits and vegetables. The body can also survive if free-range animals are consumed moderately but in cases of chronic diseases, animal proteins prevent the body from healing.

You should also prepare your meals in the most simple and natural way possible. A complex and stimulating diet puts strain on the digestive system.

Don’t eat when sad or angry as cheerfulness helps food digest better. Also avoid overeating as it has a worse effect on the body, more deadly than overeating.

Eat moderately and at regular periods. Overeating good food still damages the body. Don’t eat plenty of things at a meal and don’t combine fruit and veggies at one meal.

Mixed and complicated meals are injurious to the body. Vary your meals from day to day and give 5 hours between meals. If the previous food didn’t digest, you are just wasting your time if you eat again.

If you are sedentary or you want good health, two meals a day is okay. If you must eat three times, your third meal should be the lightest and it should be taken several hours before bedtime.

Sleep is best done and of great benefit to the body when done on an empty stomach. Avoid fried foods and foods made with grease, margarine, and hydrogenated oils. They clog the system and cause serious problems later.

Avoid dietary hazards like sugars. We have covered a lot on nutrition on this blog and will continue to do so. You can subscribe if you want weekly updates on nutrition and other important health matters. Get our Quick Meal Guide Here.

5. Rest And Sleep

Sleep is good for your health
Sleep is good for your health

This is one of the most basic healers known to humanity. When you become sick, the first thing your body wants you to do is to lie down. The restorative powers of help make all other remedies successful.

Don’t wait to be sick before you rest. Even when healthy and active, you need rest to maintain that good state of health. Lack of adequate rest causes sickness in the first place.

Even in the day time you need to rest. Sleep is not the only way to rest, you can do so by changing pace, or doing something different. You can even have a short nap.

The “go go” attitude of this present generation leads to nervous breakdown. Always remember to exercise before resting, it would be of lesser benefit if done the other way. Exercise makes rest necessary.

Sleep is another form of rest that is highly restorative. Every night, your body heals and repairs itself when you are in a state of deep sleep. If you miss this, you miss an important opportunity for your body to heal.

Sleep in a well-ventilated room and the best way to sleep is with an empty stomach. One hour of sleep before midnight is worth 2 after midnight. If you want to be healthy, go to bed with the chickens lol (wink).

Adequate rest protects the alkalinity of your blood by eliminating waste matters when you are resting or asleep. Children need more rest than adults and adult need more rest than they think they do.

Always remember this: “We never shall have any more time. We have, and we have always had, all the time there is.” All what God has given us is one day at a time, so refocus your life and take time to rest.

You can’t get peace of mind by always being in a hurry. When you are always in a hurry, you would gather up tomorrow’s problem and try to tackle all of them today. This leads to chronic stress, the deadly silent killer.

So, rest and work, and work and rest. Be balanced in both sides and don’t slack in either. “The sleep of a laboring man is sweet” (Ecclesiastes 5:12).

6. Exercise

“You’d have to go a long way to find something as good as exercise as a fountain of youth. And you don’t have to run marathons to reap the benefits. Little more than rapid walking for 30 minutes at a time three or four times a week can provide ten years of rejuvenation.” – Dr. Roy J. Shepard.

Exercise has many benefits and some of them are:

  • It improves your blood vessels and muscle tone. It transforms them from weak and flabby to strong and firm
  • Reduces blood pressure
  • Increases your heart efficiency in many ways. It makes your heart grow stronger, more blood is pumped with each stroke thereby reducing the number of stroked needed to supply your body with life-giving blood.
  • It improves your digestion by boosting circulations and normalizing bowel actions.
  • Boosts your lung efficiency and makes them have much air with less effort.
  • Increases your oxygen intake and boosts its delivery and functions.
  • Boosts the health of vital organs and systems of your body. This increases one’s resistance to sicknesses
  • Changes your whole outlook on life as it helps you relax well, handle stress better, work more efficiently, and improve your overall quality of life when not overdone.
  • Helps you sleep better at night and think better during the day. You will work more with less fatigue.
  • It slows down the aging process by reducing physical deterioration.
  • Reduces the risks of heart attack and other ailments.
  • There is some evidence that exercise reduces one’s risk of cancer

If you want to multiply these effects, exercise under moderate sunlight and rehydrate well after that.

Right now, doctors are prescribing exercise as part of programs to help people recover after surgery, giving birth, and treating chronic conditions.

Walking is one of the best and simplest exercises you can do. Do it in nature and under moderate sunlight to increase the effect on your health. Leave all your cares behind when walking and take deep breaths as you walk.

Well, many see jogging as one of the best. I don’t agree less but this should be done with caution and shouldn’t be done daily for many years.

Long-term jogging increases one’s risks of bone fractures and heel problems. The bones and joints are not meant to be running daily for so many years, just walk.

People over 50 years should avoid jogging daily. Low impact exercises are better than high impact exercises if you want to exercise daily. Walking, hiking, and cycling are safer to be done daily.

7. Abstemiousness

Overeating has consequences
Overeating has consequences

This means to be moderate in whatever you do. Be it good food, sleep, exercise, whatever. It also means self-restraint.

If you want to recover from diseases and maintain good health, you have to totally avoid some food and activities. Then even the good things and the good food, you have to take them in moderation.

In order words, we are speaking of self-control, discipline, temperance, and abstinence.

Some of the things you should totally avoid if you want to enjoy good health are:

  • Tobacco in any form (it is a slow but deadly poison)
  • Alcoholic drinks
  • Toxic drugs (in any form, whether solid, liquid, vapor, or fumes)
  • Soft drinks
  • Refined sugar
  • Canned and processed foods
  • Chemical seasonings (If you are trying to recover from any disease, avoid this totally)
  • Table salt (use unrefined sea salt or rock salt instead)
  • Sugared foods like cake, ice creams, chewing gum, and candy.
  • Hydrogenated oils, trans-fats, and greasy foods.
  • Aluminium wares
  • Processed foods. foods are best taken in their whole forms
  • Baking powder and soda because they damage the delicate lining of the stomach
  • Tobacco and automobile fumes
  • Chlorinated water and other chemicalized water and food
  • Food preservatives, taste enhancers, artificial sweeteners, etc.
  • Pesticides, herbicides, and insecticides

You need the following in moderation:

  • Rest
  • Exercise
  • Work
  • Healthy food

A way to do this is to have a simple routine in life and do everything in moderation.

8. Unwavering belief and trust in God

Spiritual Healing
Spiritual Healing: God is the most powerful healer

I cannot over-emphasize this enough. We need God for good health and long life. All these are in his hands. The best way to get them is to obey his laws, obey the natural laws he set, worship him, and do good to your fellow man.

In Nature Cure Foundation, we make use of these natural doctors in helping people suffering from chronic and degenerative conditions. We have seen them work first hand and you won’t regret following these steps.

And lastly, remember that all your enjoyment or suffering can be traced to the obedience or transgression of natural laws.
